Tetralone derivatives

Tetralone derivatives are bicyclic ketones containing a benzene ring fused to a partially saturated six-membered ring. The parent isomers, 1-tetralone and 2-tetralone, differ in carbonyl position. Substitution, saturation and stereochemistry further define identity; tetralones, tetralins and tetralols are not interchangeable.

Defined tetralones serve as building blocks and intermediates in organic synthesis, where both the carbonyl group and aromatic ring can be modified. This does not establish one end use or activity for the class. Verify the full name, CAS number, formula, carbonyl position, substitution pattern and stereochemistry. For an unlisted analogue, provide its exact structure with your custom-synthesis enquiry.
